The Applied Intelligence Research Centre has a diverse team.

Annika is a PhD student in the School of Computing where she is currently researching Deep Learning techniques for multi-modal systems involving Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing and Natural Language Generation. Her focus is on developing algorithms that can process and understand human-created content. She holds a scholarship from the ADAPT Research Centre which is funded by Science Foundation Ireland.
Before going into research, Annika worked as a Software Developer in the video game and telecom industries and later as a Software Development Lecturer and Programme Manager in third-level education. She holds an MA in Expressions in Digital Media from Blekinge Institute of Technology as well as an MSc in Computing (Data Analytics) from Dublin Institute of Technology.
