Analysing Dail Questions

The availability of the full text of Irish parliamentary questions offers opportunities for using machine learning techniques to examine the currently much discussed role of elected representatives (TDs) in the Irish parliamentary system (the Dail). This project is investigating the labelling of Dail questions using Active Learning techniques. The project is in collaboration with Prof Richard Sinnott of the Geary Institute in University College Dublin. The initial investigation looks at categorising all questions since 1922 up to 2008 as local or national.
