Comenius 2.0

Comenius 2.0 was a translational research project undertaken by AIRC researchers Dr Brian Mac Namee, Dr John D Kelleher and Dr Noel Fitzpatrick in conjunction with the NDRC. Comenius 2.0 developed novel technology for English-as-a-second-language teaching that identified the difficulty level of online articles and recognised grammatical patterns and words of interest in these articles. This information was then used as the basis for a search engine and a suite of exercise generation tools. The technology developed in the Comenius 2.0 project formed the basis for the spin-out company LingleOnline (www.lingleonline.com).
